\nThe\u00a0plaque that served as an inspiration for this dish\u00a0was shaped like a fish \u2013 a common motif from\u00a0the 2nd or 3rd century CE, when it became a\u00a0symbol of Early Christianity.\u00a0A large number\u00a0of\u00a0similar\u00a0plaques, made\u00a0of plaster, pottery,\u00a0or\u00a0stone\u00a0\u00a0and\u00a0inlaid with glass or mirrors,\u00a0have emerged\u00a0from archaeological digs in Israel.
