Ceramic Purim Plate

A festive plate inspired by a scene from the Book of Esther: the wicked Haman leads Mordecai on horseback, as described in the central chapter of the Purim story. Around the figure appears the inscription “Shlakh Manot Ish Lerhu Matanot L’Evyonim” – a unique formulation in traditional Ashkenazi language, which gives the vessel additional cultural depth.

The magnificent design connects the four commandments of Purim – reading the Megillah, sending gifts of food, giving gifts to those in need and eating a festive meal – with a work of practical art that will enhance any holiday table.

The plate is particularly suitable for serving Purim delicacies and is also a meaningful collector’s item.

The original plate is in the Israel Museum collection, and was donated by Eliyahu Sidi from Jerusalem, in memory of his parents Raphael and Hannah Sidi from Paris.
