Shutters and Stairs: Elements of Modern Architecture in Contemporary Art

Floors, stairs, shutters, doors, and other basic architectural features serve as the focus of this exhibition, which presents artworks by acclaimed contemporary artists such as Joshua Borkovsky, Yael Efrati, Tsibi Geva, Roman Ondák, Gil Marco Shani, and Noa Yaffe. Each work revolves around one particular architectural element, isolating it from its usual context. Organized according to these elements, the accompanying publication comprises a broad curatorial survey and beautiful illustrations of the works, as well as excerpts from the writings of prominent poets, philosophers, and architects including Franz Kafka, Rem Koolhaus, Walter Benjamin, and Silvia Plath.
