Mazal Tov Menorah
The modern style incorporates traditional motifs, especially those characteristics of the art of North African communities. As is customary in these communities, the menorah was made of cut brass sheeting.
From the inscription “Bessimen Tov” (A Good Sign) at the top, it is assumed that the original menorah was created specifically as a wedding gift, a custom known from other menorahs in Morocco.
The original item is preserved in the Israel Museum collection
