The Temple Menorah

A menorah inspired by the Temple Menorah, a design that embodies the changing spirit of German Jewry in the early 20th century. The menorah bears a structure reminiscent of the seven-branched menorah, with a Star of David at the top – a visual expression of the connection between tradition, renewed Jewish identity and Zionist symbols.

This design was considered at the time an artistic innovation that stemmed from the cultural and secular process that Jewish communities in Europe were undergoing.

The model is based on an original menorah from the Israel Museum collection – a moving documentation of Jewish tradition, identity and history in motion.
