Scarab Wood Puzzle

Put the pieces of this puzzle together to reveal the most common amulet in ancient Egypt – the scarab. Shaped like a dung beetle, the scarab was associated in Egyptian religion with the sun god Khepri. The beetle, rolling along its ball of dung, represented the sun god rolling the sun disk in the sky, and symbolized regeneration. Most scarabs have a flat base decorated with symbols, images, and inscriptions. Though they were sometimes used as seals, most of them were amulets, ensuring divine protection in the world of the living and in the afterlife.
