The game was produced in collaboration with the Archaeology Department at the Israel Museum and the “Fantastic Israel” brand.
More than 5,000 years ago, ancient Egyptian culture grew on the banks of the Nile River. In this culture, animals were given a place of honor. Many of them lived on the Nile, on its green banks and in the deserts beyond. The ancient Egyptians lived alongside them and other animals that they brought from distant places. Animals were important to them; they used them to perform various tasks and even raised them as pets.
The Egyptians believed that the superhuman abilities of animals – such as the ability to fly or see in complete darkness – were divine powers. Therefore, they gave many of the animals religious significance, created amulets in their image, and chose them to represent their gods and goddesses. The works of art and other objects created in ancient Egypt that contain detailed and accurate descriptions of these animals allow us to know what the animal kingdom looked like in Egypt during the time of the pharaohs.
